We always need 'luck' in racing. But, in my experience, luck is what happens when preparation meets opportunity. These videos are part of my preparation for Melbourne Cup opportunities. Our plan is to have a video about every Cup starter. Also, we will be adding updates, in 'note' format, as we continue down the path towards the 2021 Melbourne Cup. As a result of these videos in 2020 and details on my Facebook page many people backed the 'long shot' ($26) winner - Twilight Payment. (See 2020 videos below).
I particularly invite you to check out the Realm of Flowers video. It tells the story of how, in March 2021, I suggested to my Facebook followers that I thought Realm of Flowers was worth a 'cup of coffee' bet (a small bet at long odds) when she was $201 in the Futures markets. In May, Realm of Flowers won the Andrew Ramsden Stakes which gave her automatic entry into the 2021 Melbourne Cup. Her price has been dropping throughout the year. In August she was being quoted as one of the favourites at $15. Again, our Facebook followers are very happy! :)
Doing this allows you to 'lay-off' the bet and have horses running in the Cup for you for 'NO OUTLAY'. I explain how to do this in our eBook Futures, Trifectas and Magic Moments for the 2021 Melbourne Cup. My goal, using this strategy, is to have six horses running for me for NO OUTLAY. Can I suggest, throughout the year, you regularly check out our Facebook page.
Please feel free to get involved on this page or our Facebook page. Leave a comment about the horses, jockeys, trainers, your Melbourne Cup selection and if the videos have helped you decide which horse to back in the 2021 Melbourne Cup. Also, any suggestions, thoughts ir ideas about improving our site or page?
A 2021 Melbourne Cup MAX-WATCH on REALM Of FLOWERS (a 'cup of coffee horse): Realm of Flowers is one of my 'cup of coffee' bets (small bets at BIG odds) for the 2021 Melbourne Cup. in March I suggested to my Facebook followers (Facebook.com/MelbourneCupMax) that I thought Realm of Flowers was a good Melbourne Cup prospect. At that time, TAB'S 'Futures' Melbourne Cup price for Realm Cup Flowers was $201. In winning the Andrew Ramsden Stakes on the 16th of May, Realm of Flowers gained automatic entry into the 2021 Melbourne Cup. Her 'Futures' price dropped dramatically. Check out the video to see how much further the price dropped. UPDATE: Nominated in Feehan Stakes 4/9/21. UPDATE: 4/9/21 Ran in the Feehan Stakes. See Lew Dub's video report on the race. I recommend you come back to MAX-WATCH at PickTheCupWinner.com.au for any UPDATES. UPDATE: 13/9/21: Ran poorly in the Foundation Cup (Naturalism Stakes) at Caulfield on 18/9/21. See Lew Dubb's race report. UPDATE: 16/10/21 Realm Of Flowers is OUT of the Melbourne Cup.
A 2021 Melbourne Cup MAX-WATCH on INCENTIVISE (a 'cup of coffee horse & EARLY FAVOURITE): On the 25th of June I told my Facebook followers on Facebook.com/MelbourneCupMax, that I thought Incentivise was worth a ‘cup of coffee’ Cup Futures bet, before his stunning win in the $200,000 Tattersall's Cup at Eagle Farm on the 26th of June. His price, then, was $51. By August Incentivise had been backed in to become the $11 Cup favourite. Check out the video for more information. And check out the Realm Of Flowers video to learn more about my 'cup of coffee' Futures bets that allow me to have six horses running for me in the Melbourne Cup...for NO OUTLAY! UPDATE: Cranbourne Trials: UPDATE: 11/9/21: INCENTIVISE was very impressive in winning the Makybe Diva Stakes (1600 metres) at Flemington. Now outright favourite in both Caulfield Cup ($4.50) on the 16/10/21 and Melbourne Cup ($8.00) 2/11/21. UPDATE: Impressively won the Maklybe Stakes on 11/9/21. See: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6NHlmOm7Kpg&t=148s: UPDATE: 2/10/21 Impressively won Turnbull Stakes. UPDATE 20/10/21: Incentivise 'easily' wins the Caulfield Cup.
A 2021 Melbourne Cup MAX-WATCH on EXPLOSIVE JACK (a ‘cup of coffee’ horse): On 10th Apr 2021, Explosive Jack won his most significant win to date when he won the Group 1 Australian Derby at Royal Randwick, Sydney NSW. As well, in 2021, Explosive Jack won the Tasmanian Derby, the Victorian Derby, the South Australian Derby and ran 3rd in the Queensland Derby….all over 2400 metres. Prior to the running of the Queensland Derby on the 29th of May I noted his Melbourne Cup Futures was $15 with all the Bookmakers. However, he was $26 with SportsBet. I suggested to my Facebook followers he was. perhaps, worth a ‘cup of coffee’ bet at that price. Check out the video for more information. And check out the Realm Of Flowers video to learn more about my 'cup of coffee' Futures bets that allow me to have six horses running for me in the Melbourne Cup...for NO OUTLAY! Update: 11/9/21: Ran a reasonably 'lead-up' race in the Makybe Diva Stakes (1600 metres) at Flemington. UPDATE: 11/9/21: Finished back in the field in the Makybe Diva Stakes: See: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6NHlmOm7Kpg&t=148s
UPDATE 16/10/21: Well back in the Caulfield.
A 2021 Melbourne Cup MAX-WATCH on TWILIGHT PAYMENT: As Twilight Payment was the 2020 Cup winner he is certainly ‘qualified’ and passes all the entry conditions. Earlier in the year Twilight Payment put in some what I thought were ‘ordinary performances’….BUT…. on the 14th of August, Twilight Payment impressively won the Irish St Leger Trial Stakes (2800 metres) at The Curragh in Ireland. This has rocketed his Futures MELBOURNE CUP price into $15…and in August was the the equal 2nd favourite. Can he win in 2021? Ummmm. Update: 12/9/21: Ran an excellent 2nd to Sonnyboyliston in the Curragh St Leger. I recommend you come back to MAX-WATCH at PickTheCupWinner.com.au for any UPDATES. 24/10/21: Jye McNeil again will be rider of Twilight Payment.
A 2021 Melbourne Cup MAX-WATCH on SPANISH MISSION: (new Cup favourite after July 20th): Spanish Mission became the new favourite for the Melbourne Cup after running a breathtaking 2nd in the Lonsdale Cup at York in in the UK. This was on the 20th of July. Prior to that he ran 3rd in the Ascot Gold Cup. In doing so he still beat hime Stradivarius and the winner of the 2020 Melbourne Cup - Twilight Payment. After the race his SportsBet Melbourne Cup Futures price moved from $41 down to $11.00. There are no problems with him ‘qualifying’. However, I have not seen plans indicating he will or won’t have a run in Australia prior to Cup Day on the 2nd of November. Watch this space! UPDATE: 26/8/21: Excellent news for Aussie punters. Trainer Andrew Balding confirms the plan is for Spanish Mission to run in the Caulfield Cup as a lead up race. But his main mission - the Melbourne Cup.
UPDATE: 21/9/21: Champion jockey Craig Williams will ride Spanish Mission in the Melbourne Cup. Futures Price now quoted at $9.00. UPDATE: 23/9/21: SPANISH MISSION out of Caulfield Cup. UPDATE: 25/10/21: Futures price now $7.00.
A 2021 Melbourne Cup MAX-WATCH on PONDUS (A ‘cup of coffee’ horse): Pondus is owned by the super successful Lloyd Williams Syndicate. Pondus was in Australia in 2020. On the 7th of November he ran 2nd in the Queen Elizabeth over 2600 metres behind the Irish horse True Self. Soon after Pondus ran 2nd at Flemington he returned to the UK. In 2021 he ran in several races at The Curragh in Ireland. In his last run at The Curragh he ran a creditable 2nd in the Curragh Cup. It was a 2800 metre race and he carried 63kgs. He gave every indication he will handle the 3200 metres of the Melbourne Cup. UPDATE 11/9/21: PONDUS was a 'late scratching' in 2500 metre race at Flemington. Watch this space for more information. I recommend you come back to MAX-WATCH at PickTheCupWinner.com.au for any UPDATES. UPDATE: 23/10/21: Ran 3rd in the Moonee Valley Cup. UPDATE 251021: Rachel King to ride PONDUS in the Cup.
A 2021 Melbourne Cup MAX-WATCH on DAWN PATROL (A 'cup of coffee' horse): This video is about a 4yr old Northern Hemisphere Irish gelding named Dawn Patrol who is is owned by a super successful Lloyd Williams Syndicate. Dawn Patrol is now trained by Robert Hickmott…who has already trained two Melbourne Cup winners for Lloyd Williams - Efficient in 2007 and Green Moon in 2012. His last race was in Ireland on the 26th of June. Hence, I expect Dawn Patrol will have a run in Australia before the Melbourne Cup. That should please Aussie punters. UPDATE: 2/9/21 Melbourne Cup contender Dawn Patrol is set to make his Australian debut in Saturday's G2 Feehan Stakes (1600m) at Moonee Valley.
https://www.punters.com.au/news/williams-import-set-for-australian-debut_201020/ . UPDATE: 4/9/21. Ran in Feehan Stakes. See Lew Dub's race report. UPDATE 20/10/21: No longer in the Cup...considered out of form.
A 2021 Melbourne Cup MAX-WATCH on THE CHOSEN ONE (A 'cup of coffee' horse): The Chosen One is another of my ‘cup of coffee’ horses. He has has amassed career earnings in excess of $1,700,000. His 3rd in the Caulfield Cup in 2020 should qualify him to be in the 2021 Melbourne Cup field. On the day he ran in the Feehan Stakes on the 4th of September I wrote on my Facebook page that The Chosen One was being quoted at $101 in the Melbourne Cup Futures markets. I wrote “I’m not suggesting The Chosen One can win the 2021 Melbourne Cup. I think he is a reasonable each-way chance. But I’m sure he won’t start at $101 on Cup day I expect him to run a good race in the Feehan Stakes. If he does that, I think you will see that $101 Futures price in the Melbourne Cup drop dramatically. “ UPDATE: 4/9/21. Ran in Feehan Stakes. See Lew Dub's race report. He ran an impressive 3rd. Had the race been 20 metres further I believe he would have won the race..and his futures price dropped to $41. I recommend you come back to MAX-WATCH at PickTheCupWinner.com.au for any UPDATES. 9/10/21. UPDATE 9/10/21: The Chosen ran a fast finishing 2nd Delphi in the Herbert Power Stakes over 2400 metres at Caulfield. UPDATE 16/10/21: Finished 14th in Caulfield Cup.
A Melbourne Cup MAX-WATCH Verse: Can COVID win the Cup - early tip. Aussies have many strange systems and superstitions when it comes to the task of ‘picking the winner’ of the Melbourne Cup. COVID and bickering politicians appears to have been all we have seen and heard in the media during 2021. So, perhaps this verse from MelbourneCupMax, about Covid and the politicians, can provided inspiration and a new system to pick the winner of the 2021 Melbourne Cup.
It’s still 5 weeks until Melbourne Cup day on the 2nd of November. As such it is ‘far too early’ to be seriously selecting my Melbourne Cup horses. But ,I couldn’t resist the temptation of creating a verse featuring Covid, Aussie politicians and some of the current ‘horses of interest’ 5 weeks out form the Cup. It will be interesting to come back and listen to the verse just before and just after the 2nd of November.
A 2021 Melbourne Cup MAX-WATCH on SELINO: This video is about a 5 yr old gelding from Great Britain named Selino. He is trained at Rosehill, in Sydney, by Australasia’s leading trainer Chris Waller. Selino is well qualified, as he has already won at Group 1 level and has won in excess of $1,400,000, including the 2021 Sydney Cup. He has been allocated 53.5 kgs in the Melbourne Cup. In late September the Futures markets quoted Selino at $34. I expect Selino will have at least one more run before Cup day on the 2nd of November. I recommend you come back to MAX-WATCH at PickTheCupWinner.com.au for UPDATES. 16/10/21: Ran 15th in Caulfield Cup.
AWAY HE GOES: A 2021 Melbourne Cup MAX-WATCH horse: Away he Goes is a 6yr old Northern Hemisphere gelding and is trained by Ismail Mohammed. Having been allocated 54.5kg by the handicapper, Away He Goes currently is in 15th place in the Order of Entry for the Cup. Hence, Away He Goes is guaranteed a run in the Cup on the 2nd of November. His 2021 form certainly reads well. He ran 3rd to Subjectivist in the Dubai “Gold” Cup on the 27th of March. Subjectivist then went on to win the Ascot “Gold” Cup on the 17th of June in the UK I recommend you come back to MAX-WATCH at PickTheCupWinner.com.au for any UPDATES on Grand Promenade. UPDATE 25/10/21: James McDonald to ride in the Cup.
DELPHI: A 2021 Melbourne Cup MAX-WATCH on Delphi. (A cup of coffee horse): This video is about a 4 yr old Irish gelding named Delphi. He is trained by Anthony Freedman and his son Sam. He was purchased by an Australian syndicate after Delphi won the Group 3 Irish St Leger Trial (2816m) at the Curragh in 2020. Delphi is guaranteed a place in the 2021 Melbourne Cup field. He was initially allocated 52.5 kgs. However he received a 1kg penalty for winning the Herbert Power on the 9th of October. Hence, he will carry 53.5 kgs in the Melbourne Cup. I recommend you come back to MAX-WATCH at PickTheCupWinner.com.au for any UPDATES onDelphi.
TRALEE ROSE: A 2021 Melbourne Cup MAX-WATCH horse: This video is about a 5yr old mare named Tralee Rose. She has already won in excess of $700 ,000 dollars. She is trained by Symon Wilde at stables in Warrnambool. She will carry 51.kgs in the Melbourne Cup. It was thought she may have gotten a penalty for winning the Geelong Cup on the 20th of October. But the handicapper chose not to penalise her. Tralee Rose’s form reads very well. On the 18th of September she ran 3rd in the Naturalism Stakes at Caulfield over 2000 metres carrying 54kgs. On the 2nd of October she was 2nd in The Bart Cummings over 2520 metres at Flemington carrying 54 kgs . And on the 20th of October she won the Geelong Cup over 2400 metres carrying 55.5kgs.

A 2021 Melbourne Cup MAX-WATCH on SCHABAU - (a ‘cup of coffee’ horse): On the 6th of August I pointed out to my Facebook followers (Facebook.com/MelbourneCupMax) that Schabau was $101 in the SportsBet Melbourne Cup Futures market. I suggested if Schabau performed well in the 2,530 metre race at Flemington the next day, his Melbourne Cup Futures price would drop dramatically. Check out the video to see what happened. And check out the Realm Of Flowers video to learn more about my 'cup of coffee' Futures bets that allow me to have six horses running for me in the Melbourne Cup...for NO OUTLAY! UPDATE: 25/8/21. Schabau injured. Will NOT run in the Melbourne Cup.
